Practical guide: shuttles, car parks and access to Mont-Saint-Michel

Getting there, getting around

Understanding the access system

The site has dedicated car parks and a shuttle service to Mont-Saint-Michel. To save time, arrive early, follow the signs and prepare your walk. If you're a family, choose the off-peak times. To organise your stay, read «When to visit the Mont: tides and crowds» and «Family activities».

Advice for families and hikers

Comfortable shoes, windbreaker, water and snacks. Pushchairs are unsuitable for the abbey's staircases: use a baby carrier instead. Walkers will find loops close to the campsite in «Vacances randonnée». At the end of the day, return to the serenity of Camping Les Cognets.

Making the most of your time on site

Clever timetables and essential reference points

Alternate visits to the abbey, walks on the ramparts and panoramic viewpoints. Avoid the middle of the day in summer. Plan your breaks and check the tides to make the most of the most beautiful scenery.
